Conference calls for legal firms: what to look for

Across a plethora of industries, we are all united by one commonly held belief: conference calls are an immensely valuable tool. But there are fields which have to operate with a certain degree of caution when it comes to telecommunication. If you’re dealing with highly sensitive, confidential information which can have the power to completely alter a case – indeed, a life – then you can’t play fast and loose with how you communicate. This, of course, applies to legal firms. Lucky with Call.Group, you can have full confidence in your conference calls’ confidentiality; we take security very seriously, and have measures in place to ensure the privacy of every call.

Is teleconferencing the key to accessible education?

Generally, phones and education aren’t too closely paired in our minds. In fact, there are even debates raging about whether mobiles should be altogether banned from schools, as some teachers feel they introduce too much distraction and even potential conflict into the classroom.

But phones actually hold a huge amount of educative potential. When used wisely, they can facilitate learning in countless ways. You only need to have a brief scroll through the Education section of wherever you get mobile apps or podcasts, and it’s pretty evident that we spend most of our days holding amazing educational tools.

Turkey’s financial crisis: why do we turn to teleconferencing in desperate times?

What’s been happening in Turkey?

You may have seen in the news this week that the Turkish government has been tackling some serious monetary issues. Turkey’s currency, the lira, has been falling dramatically and is reportedly almost 6% weaker for the session and has lost almost a third of its value since January, sparking concerns of a full-blown currency crisis.

It comes amidst economic sanctioning issues by the USA in response to the Turkish government’s refusal to free an American pastor who has been detained in Turkey for nearly two years, due to his suspected association with illegal political organisations.

What your favourite conference call feature says about you

Maybe we’ve just spent a little too much of our spare time scrolling through social media (it’s been too hot for activities!), but here at Call Collective, we’re getting seriously on board with the idea that seemingly trivial details can reveal deep truths about us. Whilst we won’t go as far as basing anything on astrology, or on which ingredients you’d use to build a smoothie bowl, we do think your favourite teleconferencing tool can actually be a great indicator of how we’re best suited to learning and working. In the wake of that personality quiz scandal, the one which just keeps getting worse, we’ll steer well clear of presenting this as anything which requires you to input selections or personal details. Just scroll down to see what your chosen feature, all of which are provided on our Call.Group service, says about you!

Save money and save the world

ICYMI, the age of the cut-throat business is over, and the best way to do well is now to do good. One of the key ways that good deeds can boost your business is by thoughtfully portioning out a decent Corporate Social Responsibility budget, but there are lots of other little swaps and changes which you can make to trim your expenses and simultaneously lessen the negative impact you might be having upon the planet.

What is a conference call?

A conference call is a method of communication in which three or more individuals are connected together via a telephone or internet network allowing them to interact as a group.

Conference calls can happen over the phone (by ‘bridging’ telephone callers together onto a single call) or via the internet (by connecting computer users into a single conference room). Some conference calling services offer an integrated platform, which seamlessly connects telephone and internet participants into one communication session.
